Patagonia: Gigantic ice-encrusted towers of rock reach out for the storm-lashed sky. Here, mountaineering is a challenge that only few elite alpinists dare attempt. Among them is Casimiro Ferrari, the pioneering “Patagonian Spider”, who has inscribed his story on the harsh mountains’ rock and ice. Many years later, filmmaker and mountaineer Fulvio Mariani accompanies the young alpinist Matteo della Bordella and his companions as they retrace Casimiro’s footsteps – two generations discovering rock face after rock face in this barren landscape.
