My Phantom follows the intimate journey of Dutch alpinist Line van den Berg as she questions what it means to be a woman in the climbing community. For years, Line has been searching for the “perfect” female climbing partner to share her passion for the mountains and the struggle of being an athlete in a male-dominated sport. But is this really what it’s all about, or is it more to do with finding her own place in society? We follow Line as she climbs hard mixed routes, with the high point being the first female ascent of the Phantom Direct on the south face of the Grandes Jorasses together with Fay Manners.
