Grönland – Wilde Natur

Greenland is the planet’s largest island. Sparsely populated and with much of its landmass covered by a gigantic ice sheet, it is a world of extremes. it is also the destination of marine biologist Uli Kunz, who studies a very special inhabitant of the Arctic: the Greenland shark, which can live for more than 500 years. Following Uli, we explore a unique habitat and its phenomena: How do plants and animals protect themselves from freezing to death? How does the aurora borealis come about, or the strange pillars that grow out of the seabed in the Ikka Fjord?
