Cerro Torre is a majestic mountain. Many are the legends surrounding its ascent. In January 2022, despite first having to recover from a Covid infection, the time has finally come: Roger Schaeli, Pablo Pontoriero and Mario Heller set their sights on the west face route via the long glacier ascent through the Circo de los Altares. Over rock and ice, the route takes them vertically up to a peak that barely offers enough space for all of them to stand on. As soon as the wind is right, they begin their descent – by paraglider!
