The north face of the Eiger is the classic among Europe’s Alpine ascents. For elite mountain runner Philipp Reiter and mountain guide Martin Schidlowski, it is their dream destination. The two friends cycle from Bad Reichenhall to Grindelwald in the footsteps of alpine legends Toni Kurz and Anderl Hinterstoißer, who died in an accident on the Eiger in 1936. For endurance pro Philipp, the 550 kilometres and 5000 metres climb in three days are a breeze; for his best friend Martin, it’s a differently story. And in any case, the trip doesn’t quite turn out as planned. A film about the value of friendship and all that matters on the mountain.
