Four friends from Savoy – accomplished alpinists and inspired adventurers – hatch a wild idea: a daring traverse of Alaska, imagined on a map. Travelling without outside aid and pulling their gear on sledges, they approach the mountains, cross passes, reach the summits of Denali (6190 metres) and Foraker (13 kilometres of ridge and its summit at 5304 metres), ski back down and resume the trek to the Yetna River, on which they hope to coast all the way to the Pacific.
