THE EDGE OF THE FRAME explores the movement aspect of rock climbing and highlights its similarities to ballet and breakdancing. Though cliffs and wild mountains are radically different settings to dance studios the actual movements involved in climbing and dance are remarkably similar. Traveling in Europe, Australian climber Simon Blair speaks with Scottish dancer Rosie Mackley; Kristian Mensa is a Czech breakdancer who shares some Hip Hop movement insights with Simon from his dance studio in Prague. German bouldering champion Helene Wolf shows Simon how to leap up the wall in spectacular fashion. Meanwhile Italian explorer Alex Bellini offers wise advice about adventuring in the wild and the special responsibility of adventurers in a time of ecological crisis. Traversing Europe on his quest to learn from inspiring people and create a new approach to climbing Simon is in constant contact with nature.
