Simon Messner studied molecular biology and is a passionate alpinist. He found his love for the mountains at the age of 16 along the classic rock tours of the Dolomites. Simon climbs rock and ice routes and has completed many first ascents in Oman, Jordan, Pakistan, in the Alps and on his home turf, the Dolomites. He places as much store by style, i.e. how a route is opened, as he does by the climbing itself. It’s not about numbers, times or degrees of difficulty; the mountains are first and foremost a space for experiences, a space worth preserving. In his multimedia presentation, the South Tyrolean alpinist tells us about his life and takes us to the remote places that have made him what he is today.

The lecture lasts 90 minutes. Simon Messner will be available to sign autographs during the 30-minute break.
