The 37-year-old Jacqueline Fritz is full of warmth, optimism, zest and joie de vivre. This despite the fact that fate dealt her a severe blow early in life: Twisting her right ankle during ballet training as a young girl. The operation to repair her torn ligaments went wrong and an eight-year-long nightmare ensued that ended with a grim choice: amputate her leg or lose her life? “I decided against the leg. And for life,” she says. The film follows Jacqueline and her assistance dog Loui on a high-altitude climbing tour in the Dolomites.
