They have accompanied and travelled with us since the beginning of time. With powerful beats of heir wings, they fly over our fields and gardens, our battlefields and disaster zones, help themselves at our parties and waste dumps. Not a single moment of our history has gone unobserved by their dark, watchful eyes. They have been our hunting mates, gods and prey. No wild animal watches us more closely and knows us more intimately than crows. Many are the stories they could tell us about ourselves and our history.
