The sun provides the energy for life. Even in places where it struggles to penetrate the conifers, many forest inhabitants depend on its light and warmth. As the sun sets, shrouding the forest in darkness, its nocturnal inhabitants awaken. We accompany the Boreal owl and the yellow-necked mouse from the longest night to the shortest night of the year as they care for their young and brave the dangers of life in the night-time forest. With their first own production, the two young directors Clemens Keck and Tom Horak have created a wonderful, aesthetic film.
